Privacy
Simple by design.
When you choose to join The Next Edit email list, we store your email address, the page where you signed up, your signup date, your consent version and any Pinterest campaign and Pin labels in the link you followed. We use these records to manage your subscription and understand which free guides bring readers to the list. The free guides are available without joining.
We do not currently send an automated confirmation or download email. If we begin sending editorial notes and relevant guides or offers, each email will identify The Next Edit and provide a way to unsubscribe. You can ask us to remove your record. We do not sell subscriber information. Subscription records are stored by our website hosting provider until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
To understand which articles readers reach from Pinterest and how often a free download is requested, The Next Edit records daily aggregate counts for selected page views and download clicks. Pinterest campaign labels (source, medium, campaign and Pin variant) may be included in these totals. We do not store IP addresses, names, full referrers, cookies or session identifiers in this analytics table. Campaign labels are kept temporarily in your browser tab so they can be attributed to later article views and download clicks; they are cleared when the tab closes. Aggregate counts are retained for about 13 months. The site honors the browser Do Not Track setting for this measurement.
Our hosting provider may separately process basic technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as device information, IP address and request logs. The site does not use advertising cookies.
Links may take you to third-party websites with their own privacy practices. The Next Edit does not control how those sites collect or use information.
We also count clicks from our articles to disclosed affiliate offers. These aggregate events are not merchant visits, confirmed purchases or revenue. Operator checks tagged as tests are excluded.
